Borrowing has now closed for the year for students of King's High School.  There are exceptions, members of the BookGang are encouraged to borrow over the holidays.

Photos from the other day when Mr Greenfield bought his birthday present to school.  His Mother loves him very much and bought him a remote controlled shark for his birthday. He does duty in the library at lunchtime and is usually found at The Last Card League table but not this day.

Books like this are a rare find.  The characters are multi-faceted and so life like.  For this book to be a success, John Green had to portray how teens (from 16 and up) would behave with little or no adult supervision.  And HE NAILED IT!

It's 1971.  You want to get your readers inspired by famous authors, literary figures and famous folk.  You send out lots of letters and you get this one back (others too probably).  How cool.  What a treasure.  This is an inspiration and a great idea for a something we might well do here at King's High later in the year..... watch this space!

This afternoon King's High School hosted a major event, the only event specifically for teenagers in Dunedin. This is Hamish, Hamish recently visited the library on his first visit to King's.  He is the gorgeous grandson of Mr Kyle. This is fantastic news!  The benches are being installed today by Ants who has built them, and all the framing for them.  We are very excited that this is happening because it will allow more students access to online resources when there are busy periods in the library.
