Todd is a boy whose Mum and Dad have died and he is being raised by family friends, Ben and Cillian. He lives in a town where there are only men and you can hear everyone's thoughts in what is called the Noise. One day when he is out in the swamp he finds a girl and he has to save her and take her away from the town.
What I liked most about it were the fighting scenes and the running scenes and how Aaron dies because he really should have died ages ago! What I didn't like was when Todd's dog Manchee died, he was so cool and he had a cool personality.
I rate this book 4 our of 5 and recommend it for fast readers because thefight scenes will be more realistic if you read them fast and I think it would really suit readers who are above 13 - 14 years old.
