Air New Zealand CEO for a day competition

Last year we had some great entries for this competition from the regular library users.  It would be great to get even more entries this year, so come on guys head to the library and get your entry forms and instructions.

Here is the deal.  You get to join Rob Fyfe and the executives at Air New Zealand for a day.  You spend time with everyone from the engineers to the pilots, the staffing people and the marketing people finding out what they do, how they do it and you will learn what it takes to run a world leading airline.

If you are interested in aviation or running a large business this would be a very cool thing to get to do.

Head to the website here for more information and come and see Ms Schaumann in the library for the flyers.  You need to have your entry to them by the 18 July so the timeframe is quite short.  Get onto it now!

Maori Language Week

It is Maori Language Week 2011

Whakanuia Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

The theme this year is Manaakitanga,  this means kindness, caring and showing hospitality to others. One of the ways we can do this is to learn words from the language of the people we wish to show these qualities to.   Tuhoe TV is a cool site where you can listen to the words and practice the pronunciation.  It works best on Apple products but you can get it to work on other computers if you get the right software installed.  Works great on iPhones or iPads if you have one of those handy!
