The Governor-General of New Zealand visits King's High School

His Excellency, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, GNZM, QSO Governor-General of New Zealand, and Lady Janine Mateparae visited King's High School today.

It was a real priviledge to hear him as he addressed the students in the performing arts centre, there was a morning tea, and he and Lady Janine Mateparae and their entourage, came to the library to chat with some of our senior student leaders and some very lucky junior students.

He spoke to the students about his life in the military, about making sure they kept their options open in their lives, about trying new things even if they seemed scary.  He talked about choosing your friends well, and making good decisions.  It was really inspiring to hear him, and they boys enjoyed the experience. They also relished the opportunity to ask him questions
