Zombies - the vampires of last year!
Old but good:
Cell by Stephen King - it is never in the library, great read about a guy searching for his son amidst a sea of zombies, they became that way because their cell phones infected them with the zombie virus.
The Enemy and The Dead by Charlie Higson - these are very hot right now. Although we have 3 copies of each book they are always on the reserve list. A bunch of teenagers have to defend themselves from anyone over the age of 15 because of a virus that turns them all into Zombies. Awesome books.
The forest of hands and teeth (and series) by Carrie Ryan - living behind a fence with the Zombies doing their best to get at you, then disaster and they are right behind you as you attempt to travel to safety. This is a fantastic read and might give you some nightmares. It did me!
The Zombie survival guide by Max Brooks - everything you need to know, from the weapons that work, your basic survival kit and tactics. This book has it all.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Stephen Graham-Smith and Jane Austin - the name says it all!
Boneshaker by Cherie Priest - a machine that can breathe life into the dead? This can't be good! This is a steampunk novel with a taste of the zombie.
Zombies by Jim Pike - this has never been available in the library since the day it was set free and available for issue. A quick look at Zombies and what you can do to defend yourself from them and how to recognise them.
Play dead by Ryan Brown - American football and Zombies - perfect combination. Gore soaked comedy, when you have to raise your best footballers from the dead to win the competition something is terribly wrong. It is just wrong!
Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry - More virus induced Zombieism. Benny works as a Zombie killer, he isn't keen on the job but someone has to do it.
Zombie Apocalypse by Stephen Jones - This book is new here but has a reserve list as long as my arm. Even the staff are keen to learn how to survive the Zombie Apocalypse! Told in a series of emails, interviews and newscasts this is a very cool book.
Breathers: A Zombie's lament by S.G. Brown - A dark comedy about life, or undeath, through the eyes of an ordinary zombie. A more unusual take on the story with the zombies as the goodies.
And yes, there are more coming!
