BookGang = Cake!

Tuesday means BookGang here at King's.  At lunchtime we meet in L1, the classroom next to the library and share the new books available, talk about competitions running, such as the 50 Book Challenge and the New Zealand Post Book Awards Quiz Night for which teams have started getting ready and battle hard to get our hands on the latest books.

Today's big hit books were new copies of old favourites such as Artemis Fowl, the sequel to the Celia Friedman fantasy Feast of souls (the new one is called Wings of wrath), new copies of The knife of never letting go, and Send Simon Savage.  These and lots of other books were also distributed from the famous Big Blue Bag Of Books.  Mr Frost briefly spoke about the best book in the world (in his opinion) Thomas Wolfe's Look homeward angel and encouraged all the BookGangers to read it when they are senior students. Ms Keaney is also part of bookgang now and is a great help to Ms Schaumann in managing to keep her voice above the noise of 40 booklovers in one room.

The main event of course is the cake. Each week two boys make cake for the crowd of around 40 students who now attend BookGang.  Today's cake was a fabulous chocolate cake made by Reuben which was voted very very good by those who were lucky enough to get some.  Pictured below are Nathaniel and Micah handing out cake and serviettes to the hoards.  It has been suggested that we have a link to the recipes for the cakes and we hope to get this underway very soon.
