Celebrate Maori Language Week 2009

The Māori Language Week theme for 2009 is "Te Reo i te Hapori - Māori Language in the Community." Did you know that Maori Language week has been celebrated for over 30 years. So this week in the library. The issues desk is asking you if you would like your books issued in Maori, we say thank you in Maori, we are using Maori greetings to welcome people to the library. There will be displays up on the walls celebrating Maori Language week and a general acknowledgement that our country has two official languages.
