The boy who dared by Susan Campbell Bartoletti

Reviewed by Ben Whitcombe (year 9) (Currently leading the 50 Book Challenge - fantastic effort!)

This book is based on a true story about a boy called Helmuth during and just before WW2 and until he dies. Helmuth breaks the law and listens to illegal radio channels to find out the true story about Germany and thens tarts to write pamphlets about it. Finally he gets ratted on by a friend helping him. It is a really sad book.

What did I like most about it?
I liked how it had photos and was based on a true story of a Hitler Youth.

What didn't I like?
I think it was sad how he got killed and Hitler was so against the Jews.
